Announcing the 3rd annual Permaculture Design Course at Sunrise Ranch in the foothills West of Loveland, Colorado. Come learn Permaculture Design in a residential format in stunning Front Range red rock country!
Permaculture Design is an ecological design field for garden/farm, home, community, economics, and beyond! We will learn earth-based ethics, principles, and design strategies for the development of sustainable human communities in the dryland Western US and abroad. This course covers the internationally accepted Permaculture Design Course curriculum with a well-rounded team of seasoned instructors. We will explore all that Permaculture has to offer through classroom, hands-on, and field-study learning. What we learn in this course will be directly applicable to the participant’s daily lives. Those who complete the course will receive a Permaculture Design Course Certificate. There are a couple hundred thousand Permaculture Design Course graduates in nearly every country around the world, from all walks of life, so join the growing movement! This course is appropriate for gardeners, farmers, design professionals, sustainability professionals, teachers, college students, homemakers, etc.
Sunrise Ranch provides a unique opportunity to study permaculture in that the design strategies have been practiced on-site for nearly 20 years. The ranch contains mature food forests, sweeping grass-fed animal pastures, vegetable farm, greenhouses, ecologically designed buildings, and seemingly endless wildlands for study and inspiration. Along with the site location, the team of instructors have a combined background of 40 years of permaculture study and practice, and is sure to intrigue, invigorate, and excite you on the permaculture path.

Instructors:
Joel Glanzberg, has practiced, studied and taught permaculture for twenty five years on three continents. He has worked on scales from large community development, farms and ranches, to small urban homestead sites. Joel is an early pioneer in the permaculture field and is co-founder of the widely regarded Flowering Tree Permaculture Institute at Santa Clara Pueblo in Northern New Mexico. Jason Gerhardt, has been applying permaculture design in diverse bioregions from the deserts of Arizona to the fresh water lakes of New York for nearly a decade. Jason holds a BA in Sustainable Design as well as a Diploma in the fields of Permaculture Design and Education. He is known for extensive knowledge of plant ecology, rainwater harvesting, agricultural biodiversity preservation, and integrated ecological design. Jason currently teaches a permaculture certificate program for Naropa University. He has taught for many well-respected organizations including Denver Botanic Gardens, Prescott College, Permaculture Institute USA, and the US EPA. Jason practices ecological design professionally through Real Earth Design on scales ranging from 40 acres to small city yards.
Patrick Padden, is a graduate of Colorado State University, studied natural systems building design in Namibia and urban food forest implementation in Johannesburg, South Africa. Patrick received his design certificate from the International Permaculture Design Course in Harare, Zimbabwe, and attended the International Permaculture Convergence in Malawi in 2009. After four seasons of producing naturally grown food for 80+ people at Sunrise Ranch, Patrick is now co-manager of the farm and a practicing permaculturist and permaculture educator.
