Event Description

In order to provide an in-depth experiential introduction to Transition for those considering bringing Transition to their community, and to meet the training requirement for local initiating groups, Transition Boulder County is now offering a two-day Training for Transition workshop in Boulder, Colorado, based on the Training for Transition course developed by Naresh Giangrande and Sophy Banks in Totnes, England.

What you can expect at the Training for Transition workshop:

  • A deep and profound experience of Transition
  • An intimate encounter with the emerging future
  • A doorway to the power of engaged optimism
  • An inspirational/energetic boost that will empower and propel you as a powerful Transition catalyst in your community
  • Connection with others who are responding to the call for Transition
  • Connection with the heart of what may be the most important, most inspirational movement in the world!

Curriculum: The course includes the "fundamentals" for those wishing to know how to set up, run, and maintain a successful Transition Initiative. It is packed with imaginative and inspiring ways to delve into both the theory and practice of Transition, providing training in the basics of Transition for new communities coming on board, as well as other skills necessary to successfully set up and run a Transition Initiative.

Who should attend: Transition Initiative leaders, steering group members, working group members, and those considering Transition in their communities.

Instructors: The Training for Transition workshop will be taught by Michael Brownlee and Lynette Marie Hanthorn, co-founders of Transition Boulder County (the first official Transition Initiative in North America). They each bring more than three years of on-the-ground relocalization experience to the Transition Training, as well as long-time practice in organizational development, group process technologies, and psychospiritual processes.

Schedule: Saturday, 8:30 a.m. registration; workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with breaks for lunch and dinner; optional Transition Clinic at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with lunch break.
