Interns needed for Sustainability Internship in Panama!

Hello Everyone! I am the livestock intern director for a company in Panama called Kalu Yala. We are a very small company of young people working to build a sustainable village in Panama's central highland rainforest where we own a 7,000 acre property. I am looking for sustainably-minded people (students AND non-students) to be a part of our spring program which runs January 16th through April 13th. Hello Kylie,

It looks like I'm a little late for this! I saw your posting and wanted to send a line. I worked for over a year in NZ doing organic farming and worked on Transition Town Kaitaia's initial efforts. My position here in Denver ends in April, and am looking for meaningful things to do outside of the country between now and September. Right now the direction is helping install solar panels. If there are other opportunities or Kalu Yala needs help in other ways please let me know!

Hi Erika,

It sounds like you've got some great experience and would be a perfect fit for Kalu Yala. I am currently looking for interns for my Animal Science Program for the summer term which runs May 21st through August 6th. In this program, interns work with me to help build our first farming infrastructure and incorporate livestock into the Kalu Yala property. We are very focused on getting an organic farm up and running and we're hoping animals will play an important role in the Kalu Yala farming endeavors. Wow! This sounds amazing. A 7,000 acre property in Panama's beautiful rainforest :-). I hope all is going well there!

I am fairly new to actual involvement with things like this, but am eager to do so. Upon learning about what people are doing with all their ideas I realized how closely they match up with my beliefs and what I should actually be doing here.

Keep us posted! and please keep me informed if there are any position opening in the fall.
