Comment by Margaret Beers Oliver on February 15, 2011 at 1:19pm: Someone needs to start the conversation in here... may as well be wordy old me! It is my opinion that growing some if not most of your own fresh food will reconnect you to the planet we live on and that has to be a good thing.

Being able to control what is in the food and truly increase the nutrition of it through soil fertility practices if a given.

Not taking all the unpronounceable chemicals that we are being fed into your body can only help keep you healthier as you will not be in a position of trying to rid the body of these chemicals. That can only be inflammatory to the systems of the body.

I know that since I began to pay attention I have gained health and lost weight. Anything that helps keep my MonSter at bay is a good thing.
