Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Recently attended the food localization conference in Boulder. Longstanding focus on food issues which I'm now transitioning into a career: writing, journalism, activism. Starting a nonprofit, website, blog, etc. www.thought-for-food.org, under construction, would love assistance.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I seek kindred spirits in my local area who have similar ideals, goals and aspirations, such as low-impact lifestyles, homesteading, living in connection with nature, reframing our values to what really matters and away from the mirage of consumerism.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
(1) Hands-on: goats, dairy, traditional nutrition (Weston Price), fermented foods (yogurt, kombucha, kefir, cheese), live and raw foods, off grid living, organic and biodynamic farming, animal welfare.

(2) Intellectual: issue-tracking, writing, research, programming, networking, media/PR, idea generation, problem-solving, intuition, holistic healing, democracy issues/corporate power.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
The advocacy and journalistic work I'm doing around food (GMO's etc.), environment and revitalizing of democracy is deeply in alignment with the principles of Transition.
