This month Susan Bloomquist will talk about the Permaculture approach to gardening with spceial emphasis on the sheet mulching technique we will be using on the community gardens in Broomfield. "Have you tried the 3 sisters method of corn, beans, and squash planted together? I agree that corn is best left to the experts, but it does give the beans something to climb and provides shade for the squash. Just curious to see if anyone has used…"

Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?: No. I just heard about this opportunity through the Broomfield Enterprise.

In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?: It would be a great learning opportunity for my Girl Scout troops. They would donate the majority of the food raised to the local food bank.

What background and skills do you bring to this community?: I was raised on a 250 acre farm in Iowa. We were nearly totally self sufficient.

How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?: Word of mouth, publicity from GS- I have a degree in Marketing so maybe that could help.
