Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Volunteer consultant to and organizer for Transition CO
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Globalism brings many good things, such as contact between different cultures who can learn from each other, however, globalism in its current form also comes with dehumanizing, economically oppressive and environmentally disasterous consequences. Transition presents an opportunity to build a new paradigm, a new way of being that affirms the human spirit, creates local resiliency, and fosters peace
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
16 years in non-profit management, grantmaking and fundraising; an irrepressible passion for making the world better by modeling the change we want to see around us.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
By attracting resources to it and fostering its acceptance, growth and maturation

Welcome Christopher,

Great to see your interest in Transition!  Welcome to the COLORADO TRANSITION NETWORK.

Feel free to join in our activities. Click on a person's photo to make contact. Say Hello. Reinforce the good things they're talking about and doing.  Bring up a discussion that particularly interests you. Pose a question. Announce an event. Be serious.  Have fun!

In your local community, does Nederland (or some broader geographic area) have a Transition-supporting website, or blog, or listserv, or Facebook, or Meetup where Transition subjects are dealt with?  If so, it would be spot on for all our Colorado members if you would consider including Nederland in our registry of organizations, localities, virtual topics, companies, products, services, Twitterers, Facebooks, Meetups, etc. that support Transition and sustainability. What an opportunity for you to contribute to your neighbors!

Here's the page to create your link -- http://transitioncolorado.ning.com/groups/group/new. Creating the group will give you a place to make your community visible throughout Colorado, to keep track of your local members, to use a handy mailing list to contact everybody, to announce and discuss.  You can see what 70 of our members have already created at http://transitioncolorado.ning.com/groups  What do you say... Interested?  I'll be glad to help launch and build your group.

One more thing.  It would be super to see your photo -- "Choose File" on http://transitioncolorado.ning.com/profiles/settings/editProfileInfo -- Let me know if you need assistance.  I'll be delighted to do some photoshopping if needed.

Again, welcome!
