Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
As an interested citizen, ready to learn, and personally invested.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
The state of our world and our role in it is undeniable. The trajectory is not encouraging, but the shifts I'm witnessing in myself and all around me are hopeful. Transition makes so much SENSE in this context as a way to relocalize our relationships and resources. It's also entirely empowering for individuals and communities. We need each other despite our best efforts to deny our interconnectedness for so long.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
My background is in higher education (as an administrator and adjunct instructor). My true passion throughout a decade in colleges/universities that carries through to my work today is focused on empowerment. I now work with a social profit (non-profit) organization dedicated to a world free from hunger through localized, grassroots, gender-focused, and empowerment-based sustainable development. I have strong relational, speaking, writing, and facilitation skills. I also bring project management, program/curriculum development, outreach, and training experience/skills. I've spent my entire life in education because I love learning and teaching - roles I firmly believe we must all play and be open to!
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
Through application of any of my skills (above) - though the truth is I'm not yet sure! I am invested in learning about the current context of the movement and participating in collective visioning, creative exploration, and strategic action to discover where/how I can most contribute and what is most needed.
