Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I am founder of Colorado Kin Domains (www.coloradokindomains.com). We are building a demonstration settlement in Colorado for infinitely sustainable lifestyles.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I like the transition town movement because it gets people into action no matter how small that action may be. Our planned settlements are to create public demonstrations of lifestyles that make the transition easier and faster. They will include training events and will provide research data to assist the public at large in making informed decisions.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
I have researched the various elements of our modern lifestyle and how they impact our sustainability, especially our food production model. I have devised a plan based on the Ringing Cedars models that will reconnect people with healthy food and dramatically reduce the ecological footprint we leave.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I haven't researched enough about what this movement needs to answer this fully. However, the settlement, Ark Conservation Ranch, that I am helping to create will provide an infinitely sustainable lifestyle demonstration that will allow people to visually see how a lifestyle would look that functions within a single planet's resources. We will be providing workshops and visitor days.
Your Favorite Books/Websites/Blogs/RSS Feeds for Information about the Transition Movement
I don't know books about the transition movement per se, but my favorite books for describing an infinitely sustainable lifestyle are the Ringing Cedars of Russia Series. I also love the Tom Brown Jr. books and The Continuum. Another delightful book with a specific focus is Diaper Free.

Hi Joyce.   I'm looking or 3-5 households interested in exploring a new Time Bank for Golden.  There's one theoretically available, but it seems to be non functioning (Circles of Light).  Do you know about Time Banking?  (www.timebanks.org)

If you are interested, it would be 3 Sunday meetings, 2-5pm, in my home:  October 16th, 23rd, and 30th.  Call me at 720.290.5715 if you are interested!
