A community of citizens that believes we have the power to build community resilience and self-reliance such that all species, now and in the future, will be able to meet their basic needs while maintaining a healthy planet.
"Welcome to Transition Colorado Karen. You may be interested in the group named Transition Westminster/Arvada/Broomfield which is sponsoring two permaculture gardens this growing season. We would be pleased to have your participation."
How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
Just getting educated and becoming intrigued by permaculture.
Started my first vegetable garden, volunteering at a poultry farm, planning to help other gardeners with their work.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I think that as many people as possible need to produce what they can for their communities all over the world. As someone with all available opportunities, I chose to embrace the value of things beyond career and money, and hope to see planetary health and vitality become the most cherished and important aspect of the lives of all humans.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
I am artistic and have done many labor intensive projects over the decades.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I meet new people all the time and bring the subject up all the time. Some people "glaze over", but many are very interested and excited. I want to grow onions for my business.

Thanks! I'll take you up on that when we get there, which will be on June 1st. 8 years in Boulder made Colorado home, and it's great to be returning there at last. I look forward to hearing your recommendations, especially in terms of the urban agriculture that both of us seem interested in! I'll email you again after I can get online again there.
I saw your interests in farming and urban agriculture and thought we might connect. I'm an environmental planner looking to work in food system planning in Denver; thought we might have resources and ideas to share! Also, I'm just in the process of moving to Denver, will be there June 1st, so I'm still finding stuff to do that focuses on my interests. Any suggestions welcome!
