Transition Denver Update!

Dear Neighbor,

Most of us are craving security and want to belong to a vibrant, caring, and supportive community. Yet with the impending impacts of peak oil and climate instability beginning to touch our lives, what will that mean for our food supplies and our safety? What can we do to ensure that we meet this challenge with our hearts open and our imaginations engaged?

Transition Denver invites you to help us create a… Continue

Project for Public Spaces Training, NYC, Oct 17-18: How to Create Successful Markets

Dear Friends of PPS,

How To Create Successful Markets, a training course held in New York City on October 17-18, 2008, is just one month away!

Participants of this course will learn about the four crucial elements of successful markets: the right mix of vendors and products; a strong sense of place; solid economic and operational underpinnings; and a firm commitment to the surrounding community. Through presentations, working groups, and on-site tours of New York City's… Continue

Hey Kenzie--
Miss seeing you---
Now that you live in our 'hood...we want to ask you a favor. Remember last year's
Spring Event at Madame CJ Walker park? The four neighborhoods of Clayton, Cole, Whittier and Skyland are having a SECOND ANNUAL---on May 8 from 10 to 1 pm--and
at the same location. I had hoped to have someone from Urban
Homesteading, but they are unable to make it. Could you come and table? We promised we would have info on Chicken raising...so if you could do that as well
as any other sharing you'd like, we'd be grateful...and so would our neighbors...let me know--my phone is 303-388-8546 Thanks Kathy

Dear Kenzie,

I'm assisting in organizing a sustainability fair on the Auraria campus. Would you be interested in being a demonstrating permaculture? Please call or email me. Virginia Till - vet1226@yahoo.com 720-833-1924

We're trying to get our vendors lined up this week if possible. The fair will be on November 12. And cost to vendors is free at this point. If that does change, the fee will be nominal ($25).

If you know of any other vendors that would be good to have, please let me know as well! Thanks!

Hi Kenzie, I'm kinda confused by the event posting for Basic Chicken Keeping. The NING site says this is taking place September 12, but denverurbanhomesteading.com says it's happening October 10th? Can you advise? Thanks...

Not sure what you mean by this. Let's talk on the phone. When's a good time for you?

Hi Kenzie

Yeah been busy here & had so little time to come back to Denver programs. Am getting ready now to do some teaching of the PC course at Willow Way.
June 5th turns out to be one of those teaching days -
also I took both of Claire's med herb classes at Boulder Mennonite church & the intro at Community room at Boulder Meadows, & last year we did some med herb field work at Jennifer Murnan & Lois Hickman's farm so probably will do fine with all the info I already have from Claire.

Thanks for checking in, have been thinking about you. I may be able to come soon to the May 12 evening at the Mercury cafe -so may see you there.

Cheers/
Coco

Hey Kenzie,
Saw the event you posted about "Healthy Food for All" and thought you might want to know about the self-facilitated discussion course created by the Northwest Earth Institute. It's called "Menu for the Future" and is a great way for a group of folks to learn more about those issues and find creative solutions. Here's the link: http://nwei.org/discussion_courses/course-offerings/menu-for-the-future

If you find people who are interested in learning more or setting up a group they can look on the Rocky Mountain Earth Institute site at www.rm-ei.org.

Hi Kenzie-

The garden calendar is pretty much good to go, but I've got some questions about formatting. I emailed you at gmail to try to connect and resolve the questions, hopefully this will be done in the next couple of days! Thanks for contacting me about it.
