How are you currently involved in the Transition movement?
I am a student with Prescott College in AZ studying community organizing for sustainability. I also am a representative of the Interdependent Project Community Sphere ( www.interdependentproject.org), and am helping to organize the Continental Bioregional Congress at The Farm in TN ( www.biocongress.org), to be held in Oct. In other words, I am building skills as a networker and hope to help Transition Towns via spreading the word and bringing recognition and attention to this great movement.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I learned about the movement last year and have watched it pick up steam quickly. I am interested in what it takes to organize and motivate people for implementing positive change, and think the focus on relocalization is key in creating a more sustainable way of life on the planet. When I complete my degree program I aim to get more involved in my own local Transition Towns movement to see how I can help.
What background and skills do you bring to this community?
Networking and organizing. Communications. Involvement in event production.
How can you help the growth/acceptance/vitality of the Transition movement?
I can spread the word, point people to local TT groups, encourage people to attend events and help bring about more events for educating and reskilling.
