Hi Vickie,

Sorry for not responding to your "friend" request sooner. I had to cut back on the number of Transition emails I was receiving and I missed it.

I thought you'd be interested in this ... its open to anyone who's interested and motivated to volunteer time to the cause

Dear Friends of Community Gardens in Longmont:

We have a meeting scheduled for July 15 at 6:30 p.m. for the next Community Garden meeting (at the Library this time, not the Safety and Justice Center). We have spoken at the May and June meetings about the formation of a guiding Community Garden Council. As a way of working towards that end, Ron, Linda and I are hoping to turn over the development of an agenda and the facilitation of the July 15 meeting to the participants themselves.

We would like to schedule a pre-meeting with anyone interested in leading the July 15 meeting, to discuss the agenda and the facilitation of that meeting. If interested, let me know if you are available during the day, or if you only have evening availability. I will schedule the pre-meeting by the end of the day next Monday, based on the responses I receive.

For those of you who didn't attend or hear about the City Council meeting held last Tuesday, the Council approved the funds necessary to begin the preparation of the ground for an expanded Community Garden at the Second Start CG at 11th and Baker Street, Council expressed strong support for CG's in general, and for the expansion of Second Start in particular. So, with your support and interest, and the support and interest of the City Council, we are off to a strong start this year.

Susan
