Yes, I will be attending the Botanic Garden event tonight. I look forward to meeting other like-interested people. I am meeting Tori tomorrow for lunch. I hope to create a synergy of services and learning. Hope to see you tonight!
Thanks for the welcome Dana. I am a sociology teacher at the Art Institute and always looking for ways to get my students involed in the community. Currently, in addition to teaching sociology, I am teaching a class in food and society. We are interested in Urban Agriculture, Edible Schoolyards, CSA's, and food justice. Please let me know if there are events we can get involved in. I look forward to meeting you.
Awesome! I'd love to get together. I have a group of volunteers chomping at the bit to put together a barter board for our community and we're looking for some guidance....well, it's not just that barter board, we have a million ideas running around in our heads and we'd LOVE to collaborate with you, considering you have been in this conversation a lot longer that we have. :)
Hi, Dana. Thanks for your welcome. How do I join Transition Denver? I tried on-line, but the only option I saw was for Transition Colorado. And I'm not available on Tuesday, but would love to know more about the Denver activities. Is there a specific site for just Denver stuff? I have to admit I'm a bit of a techno-ignoramous, so navigating these websites doesn't come naturally to me. Thanks. Val
Dana, I don't know much about your group, but would love to learn. I'm a friend of Carol McFadden's. I taught in Cherry Creek Schools for 30 years, and retired in 2005. I have raised rabbits, guinea pigs(great compost makers, ha ha), and have been a gardener for 40 years or so. i do the trial/error methods. Looking forward to meeting new people. Linda Mason
Thanks for your warm welcome -- and for all you're doing in your community. We're pleased to have Peak Moment programs for the Transitioners...help get out some positive messages and models for living the Transition. ~ Janaia
I'm hoping to chat with Kenzie today and would like to connect with you, as well, about how to make Green Team Project resources available to others. I met with Liz Henry and Tracy Vlnicka about EF/GT partnerships on Friday and they had lots of good things to say about you!
Hi Dana, I heard about Transition last year - not sure how any more - and got all fowled up trying to sign on then... had a moment of success today.
Yes the Earth Force model influences my teaching (service learning aspects) immensely. I've co-taught with Tracy Vlnika (at Earth Force) and learned much from her.
I work closely with the student group forming up the community garden and the permaculture garden (post on the Transition Permaculture Folks page).
Thanks for the welcome. Loooking forward to more Transition. Buck
I look forward to meeting you also. I would like to connect with as many people as possible in the time I have here and I am ever so grateful for having the internet to do this.
One of the important things I have learned here is networking. The gringo community has done a terrific job with that here. I would like to set this in motion in the States as provides assistance for success in the creative efforts of the people.
Thank you for you kind welcome....I look forward to meeting you also.
