Thanks David for the invitation. I've been a follower the "real" Organic Food movement since I picked up my first copy of the original Organic Gardening and Farming magazine in 1971, back when the Rodale brothers were running it. Throughout all those years it has been more than obvious that certain gifted and enlightened individuals foresaw the situation that we find ourselves facing in our immediate future. Transition seems to be an extension if not a modern take on many of the principles espoused by the Rodale brothers decades ago. I just hope that we’re not too late to reset the paradigm of human stewardship of this planet for the future…things are certainly looking “froggy” out there in the world today. Thanks again…later. Steve
Oh good! I just saw the reply - thanks for welcoming my kids. They love what you are doing too. Hope we could get Pam and her little one to come as well : )
Yea, that was my plan. Thought I already had actually..? Guess not. I met Steve last night, whom told me about this, so I thought I'd give it a whirl ;n)
Hi David! Thanks for the friend request. I visited the Digital Garden today and met Leo. Very kewl. Also, I got a bunch of manure/compost and cardboard! Very excited. :) ~Crystal
hey, how'd the rest of the project workout? the video looks great. hopefully we can get video footage of planting and maybe some walking around footage during various weeks of growth to notice the difference. :). (at worst case TONS of pictures for a slideshow video maybe) I cant wait to see the results, hopefully you wont need to do much to it for the next 30 years ;)
Nice to meet you, too, David. I'll be at the Tattered Cover Lodo next Thursday (the 10) at 7:00 to talk about my new book, The New Normal, which is the last book in a trilogy about culture-shifting, with Affluenza and Simple Prosperity. The publisher tells me they're doing a second printing just a month after the first one.
Interested in some conference calling/training with Skype? Les is thinking about getting a group together this weekend sometime and wanted a headcount...
Thanks for your welcoming message, David. I'm just getting my feet wet, so it will take me a while to get up to speed on this group. I'm very excited to share and learn with the group, and get involved in the community garden.
I appreciate your welcome. I thought I was joining the Broomfield/Arvada/Westminster group. I will make sure I involve myself with them. Thanks for the tip. One of my thoughts for networking here is to motivate the school to implement a garden for my son's school (Emerald Elementary). I'm looking for connections on how to make that happen.
I have just moved to the area east of applewood and am interested in what the local community is doing as well as creating a permaculture design for my new home. I just received my Permaculture Design Certification in Oct with Sandy Cruz.
Someone at the Grange Contra Dance mentioned your drip watering expertise. I have ditch rights and would like to combine a drip system, rainwater harvesting system and ditch water...any thoughts?
Hi David, we are having a pot luck here on Saturday! The directions are on Transition Colorado Springs! I would love to get a chance to talk to you about the double rainbow!
Hi David, What 's the concept for the Double Rainbow garden? I think I may have a full plate doing my own garden. But I wouldn't mind checking it out. My husband has visited the Broomfield Grange recently with my brother-in-law who's the Grange Master of California. Were you present for the tour? Granges seem like a perfect fit for the Transition movement. Do you agree?
