We only started honoring the water treaty with Mexico when they found oil (contrary to popular belief, the U.S. gets most of its oil from Mexico and Canada).  As peak oil really settles in, undoing the water treaty with Mexico will become more and more difficult.  (Reference "Cadillac Desert" for the full story).

I've been wondering whether, as it gets hotter/drier, Colorado will see a mass exodus as people migrate to wetter pastures.  I've also wondered at what point the State of Colorado might do something about the international/interstate water treaties/agreements, if and when we get more desperate.  Of course, we'll have to give up golf courses long before that point but... I do wonder.

Very nice video - I will show it to my 8th Grade Urban Agriculture/Sustainability class next week.  They have been studying water in Colorado and this video is a nice addition.
